Service Team Leader - Central Region

Motivair Compressors Limited (MCL) is a Technical and Service Solutions business that specialises in industrial air systems. We are looking for a Service Team Leader for our Central Region. The Service Team leader will have regional responsibility for supporting a team of service engineers, promoting the best interests of the company and acting as the regional representative of the allocated Team. This position combines the practical on-site service engineer role with formal responsibility for supporting, guiding and advising other members of the regional service team.    The Service Team Leader will regularly undertake joint site visits with engineers, and report any issues to the Field Engineering Manager. 

Main Duties

  • Complete service reports, timesheets, job sheets, and recommendations accurately and on time in accordance with laid down procedures and ensure your team do the same.
  • Promote the company in order to secure opportunities for additional work
  • Repair broken-down equipment under emergency call out schemes
  • Regularly meet allocated team to obtain feedback on on-site activity and any issues that require management support.
  • Regularly meet the Field Engineering Manager and Technical Support and Training Manager to discuss the regional service activity
  • Support system commissioning and training activities
  • Provide Support to the regional team for completing quotations correctly with all information
  • Carry out joint visits with engineers and report any issues
  • Monitor performance and act as mentor to any new engineers and provide monthly update during probationary period
  • Continue performance evaluation of all regional engineers providing feedback to FEM
  • Carry out equipment and system installation work at customer sites.
  • Completing appropriate risk assessment and method statement paperwork before commencing work.
  • Maintain good professional working relationships with all existing and new customers
  • Act as an ambassador for Motivair Compressors.
  • Participate in the Call Out Rota as required.

Essential Job Functions

  • Familiar with compressed air equipment and its service and maintenance requirements.
  • Able to lead and direct a team of service engineers.
  • Be familiar with modern servicing and faultfinding techniques.
  • Awareness of electrical/electronic and PLC controlled systems and their testing and repair
  • Good communicator
  • Willing to work additional hours as required
  • Computer literate, familiar with Outlook, Excel and Word software
  • Ability to promote the company and to protect its interests at all times.


  • Experience of a similar job function in a related field
  • Electromechanical engineering background


  • Prepared to travel extensively in the UK and occasionally abroad as required
  • Prepared to work long and unsociable hours as required. This will involve early starts and late finishes from time to time.
  • Clean driving license
  • Able to complete administrative duties in accordance with agreed procedures
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Keen to learn new skills and undergo further training as needed.
  • Fit and healthy

Desired Qualifications

  • City and Guilds Electrical or mechanical qualification.
