Motivair Compressors Limited (MCL) is a Technical and Service Solutions business that specialises in industrial air systems.The core business is as a total solutions provider to the Compressed Air Industry as a provider of maintenance, service and Turnkey projects

A new CEO joined Motivair in 2017 and has identified a need to strengthen the commercial team with the aim of supporting the next stage of Motivairs development.

Motivair is well positioned to grow via its market position, customer value proposition and scalable infrastructure. This Bid Manager is a key role in Motivairs growth plan and for the right candidate could be a step into a successful and highly ambitious company that is expanding in a £100m plus market. 

Purpose of the role

  • Build and control a quote, bid and sales process management model that supports  Motivairs sales revenue growth. 
  • To own  the bid and quote process for tender opportunities and completion of tenders through to the tracking and reporting of sales opportunities (initial enquiry to order closure)
  • To own and continuously improve the bid and quote process to source refinements and improvements.  
  • To work collaboratively, proactively and add thought leadership to other Motivair commercial and operational departments. 
  • Lead the sourcing, identification and validation of opportunities to be fed into the organisation.
  • Deliver tender and bid submissions that are technically compliant and commercially viable
  • Ensure the firm is insulated from unsustainable exposure within contract terms & conditions
  • Provide guidance regarding the impact of project cash flows
  • Ensure that all bids and tenders are managed within the company policies and processes


  • Educated to A-Level Standard
  • Experience of leading a bid/commercial function.
  • Experience in a technical engineering or service delivery business.
  • Tender portal experience 
  • Microsoft dynamics CRM
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility regarding working hours in order to achieve set objectives

Brief - Terms and Conditions

Salary: Competitive
Location: Gloucester/Burntwood likely 50:50 at each site - Ideally lives within a 50 mile radius from Worcester 
Hours: 40 Hours per week
